Dealing With Death In Different Cultures


Birth and death is exact. It means that there are a lot of uncertainties in our life. Everything is changing from time to time in a way that is unpredictable. But Death is very certain; we all will exactly die someday. Sometimes, people find it hard to deal with death. But unfortunately no one can avoid from this. In an effort to deal with death, we shroud it in ritual and surround it with taboos. The ways in which the dead bodies are dissolved differ from cultures to cultures. And what one culture sees as a normal way to cope with the dead, for another is possibly be forbidden. In America, a corpse is beautified for an open casket funeral. In Nepal, a body is burned beside a sacred river. In Germany, human bodies are sometimes put on public display.
